Started with four looms and one unhappy customer
In 2008 Joseph Rodriguez was managing fabric purchasing for a furniture manufacturer and losing weeks to suppliers who would not commit to a shipping date. In the spring of 2009 he bought four rebuilt rapier looms, leased a hall on Canal Street in Helena, and opened Imran Weaving with a simple promise: quote honestly, weave to the spec sheet, and call the customer before they have to call you.
The first order was 340 yards of a 14-ounce cotton twill. That customer still buys from us. Between then and now the mill has grown to 22 looms, 31 employees and roughly 2.4 million yards a year — but the operating rules have not changed, and the owner still signs off on every new construction.
We remain deliberately mid-sized. Big enough to run a 20,000-yard hospitality program across a season, small enough that a designer can order 60 yards for a prototype and get a real answer the same week.
Four principles we do not trade away
The spec sheet is the contract
Yarn count, sett, finished weight, width, shrinkage and finish are written down before production and measured after it. If the goods miss the sheet, they are ours, not yours.
No quiet substitutions
We do not swap a yarn, a finish or a mill without written approval, even when it would be cheaper or faster for us.
Bad news travels first
A slipped date, a shade that will not match, a yarn shortage — you hear it the day we know, with options attached.
People stay
Our average weaving-floor tenure is over nine years. Consistent cloth comes from people who have run the same loom for a decade.

Founded the mill in 2009 after eleven years in furniture-side textile purchasing. Approves every new construction, prices every program over 5,000 yards, and is reachable at admin@imranweaving.com.
Weaving & warping department
Eleven weavers and two warp preparation technicians across two shifts, Monday to Friday. Loom mechanics are done in-house; we keep a full spare-parts crib rather than waiting on service calls.
Finishing & inspection
Six staff running the finishing range, the lighted inspection frames and the physical test bench. Nothing leaves the building without an inspection ticket signed by name.
Customer service & logistics
Four people handling quotes, sample dispatch, order acknowledgements and freight. Calls to +1 858-348-9911 are answered by a person during business hours, not a menu.

Mill, finishing, inspection, warehousing and the wholesale office are all at one address. Customer visits and loom-side approvals are welcome by appointment — most buyers come through in the spring or early fall.
