Quality & Compliance
Four-point inspection on every yard, documented test methods, retained cuttings for three years, and a written specification behind every order.
Every yard passes a lighted frame
Finished yardage is inspected on lighted frames using the four-point system published by ASTM D5430. Rolls carrying more than 20 points per 100 linear yards are held, re-cut or downgraded — they are never quietly shipped as first quality.
Each roll ships with an inspection ticket showing the lot number, inspector, yardage, point count and the location of any flagged defect measured from the roll start, so your cutting room knows before it spreads.
- 100% of finished yardage inspected, not a sampled percentage
- Flagged defects marked at the selvedge and listed on the ticket
- Seconds sold clearly labelled as seconds, at seconds pricing
- Retained cuttings from every dye lot held for three years
What we test, and how
On-site tests are run on our own bench. Abrasion, lightfastness and flammability are sub-contracted to accredited independent laboratories, and reports are issued in the lab's name — not ours.
| Property | Method | Where | Typical requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mass per unit area | ASTM D3776 | In-house | ±5% of spec |
| Breaking strength | ASTM D5034 (grab) | In-house | Per construction |
| Dimensional stability | AATCC 135 | In-house | ≤3% warp / ≤2% weft |
| Crocking, wet & dry | AATCC 8 | In-house | Grade 4 minimum |
| Seam slippage | ASTM D434 | In-house | Upholstery grades |
| Abrasion resistance | ASTM D4157 (Wyzenbeek) | Partner lab | 30k–100k double rubs |
| Colourfastness to light | AATCC 16.3 | Partner lab | Grade 4 at 40 hours |
| Flammability, upholstered | CAL TB 117-2013 | Partner lab | Pass, when specified |
| Flammability, drapery | NFPA 701 | Partner lab | Pass, when specified |
Test requirements are set per project. We will tell you plainly when a construction cannot reach a target rather than testing repeatedly in the hope of a pass.
Compliance
Fibre content and country of origin are labelled per the U.S. Textile Fiber Products Identification Act and FTC care-labelling rules. Chemical inputs are held to a documented restricted-substance list reviewed annually.
Documentation pack
Every shipment includes the spec sheet, inspection tickets, care instructions, fibre-content statement and, where ordered, third-party test reports and a certificate of conformance.
If something is wrong
Claims are accepted within 30 days of delivery on uncut goods. We ask for the roll and lot number, photographs and a 12″ cutting; approved claims are replaced or credited, our freight.
